Signs of Stress That Show On Your Skin

Stress

There’s a saying that stress is just like garbage. If you don’t dispose of it properly, it’s going to pile up.

Just like how the smell of garbage spreads, stress can spread throughout your body. Before you know it, it takes over and just like foul odor, it becomes unbearable.

Signs of Tension

Unfortunately, tension isn’t something we can just avoid. Your bills, job and life aren’t going to go away just by ignoring the problem. But one thing you can do is manage your stress levels!

This includes regularly exercising, eating well and getting the right amount of sleep. But if you don’t manage stress, it can take a toll on your skin.

So many people deny the fact that they feel under pressure. They feel they are just tired from a long day of work. But there’s a significant difference between tension and exhaustion.

Here are the signs of stress to look out for:

I’ve Got My Eye On You

Your to-do list can wait. While it’s great that you’re dedicated to your work and want to get the project done before the deadline, staying up late is NOT good for your health.

Lack of sleep may not be the least of your concerns right now but it can lead to swollen eyes. Furthermore, your eyes will become puffy, making your face look bloated and aged.

What’s worse is that this can lead to fluid accumulating in your lower eyelid!

The best way to prevent puffy eyes is by going to bed early and making sure not to use your phone in bed.    I’ve Got My Eye On You

If you’re still waking up with swollen eyes, put a spoon in the fridge for 10 minutes and then gently pat your under-eye area.

Beet the Heat and Drink More Water

When we’re stressed out, we tend to not drink enough water. If you’re dehydrated, your skin will suffer the after effects. You’ll end up with dull, dry and flaky skin.

Make sure to drink plenty of water and download a water app that tracks your intake level. You can also purchase a large bottle so that even if you’re forgetting to drink 8 glasses, you can make up for it.

Since it’s summer, make sure to eat fruits that have high water content. Watermelons are an excellent way to stay hydrated. Beet juice is also excellent for your skin and for reversing the signs of aging (which can be caused by stress.)

Nuts About Skincare!

When you’re stressed out, make sure to incorporate nuts into your diet. Nuts like almonds and walnuts contain vitamin B and zinc which help reduce stress levels. They’re also excellent for hair and skin, and promote immunity.

When your body is safe from infections, your skin will automatically start looking gorgeous!

These are just a few tips to keep in mind
